What you'll learn

  • Bike setup including saddle position, handlebar set up, tyre pressure and how to avoid punctures

  • Seated pedalling, standing up pedalling and changing gears efficiently and correctly

  • Trail etiquette so you feel at home on the trails and with other riders

  • Minor trail-side repairs including taking the rear wheel off, quick releases and puncture repair

  • Basic body position for balance, safety and stability

  • Rolling drops and dealing with steep sections of trail

  • What the different brakes do and when to use them

  • How to corner including line choice, body position, braking and where to ride on the trail for safety, balance and confidence

  • Basic maintenance of your bike
